How much does it cost to participate in the World ShootOut competition?
Participation fees depend on the number of categories you would like to participate in. In addition, it depends on
the number of sets you plan to submit in each of the categories. For the full list of participation fees, please Click Here.
Note that registration to the different categories is carried out ahead of time and should be completed no later than November 1st, 2018.

Where can I dive during the World ShootOut competition?
During the World ShootOut, you can dive in any natural water resource found around the world, including seas, oceans, lakes,
rivers, under the ice and more.
You are invited to take part in the competition by diving in your familiar or favorite destination during the days of the shoot-out. 

How will the production authenticate that images were taken during the World ShootOut?
During November, participants who have reached semi-final stages of the judging process will be asked to submit
RAW files for the purpose of legal validation. 

How do I submit the images at the end of the competition?
Participants’ chosen images can be submitted to the competition throughout the months of January - November, 2016,
and no later than November 1st, 2017. 
Registration must be completed prior to uploading images to the website.  
Images submitted later than November 1st, 2017 will not be accepted. 

Is software editing permitted for images submitted to the competition?
Minor enhancements of photos using imaging software, such as color and contrast enhancements, are permitted.
Image editing that alters the main content of the photo,
such as moving, removing objects and/or implanting foreign elements, is not permitted.

What file format should be used when submitting images to the competition?
 Images must be saved in jpeg format and should be sized up to be 2,000 pixels in the longest dimension and 72 DPI. 
Participants reaching semi-final stages during the judging process will be asked to send the selected images in both RAW and JPEG formats
using any of the online download services ( DropBox , Jambo Mail, Wet Transfer, Hightail and others ).

May I “tickle” the fish?
No, the wellbeing of the environment is important to all of us. Please make sure to follow environmental regulations and
to protect the underwater world
while producing your images. Furthermore, images that introduce an environmental manipulation will not be accepted.
Participants are obligated to follow environmental conservation regulations and to share respect for the underwater
world during the process of taking images,
wherever they might be diving. Be advised that any damage to the protected underwater world, including the disruption of the natural habitat of creatures,
provocation through touching, feeding or annoying, is prohibited by law and will disqualify the images or the photographer.

When will I find out if I’m a lucky winner?
All World Shoot-Out winners and nominees will be announced on a festive winning ceremony which takes place on Friday, January 26, 2018, at the
boot Düsseldorf dive show in Germany.

On and Saturday January 27, 2018 this ceremony will also be hosting the judging phase of the Underwater Photography Global Championship, where teams will be scored by the judges in live.
All winners and nominees will be announce on the competition website  on Sunday, January 28, 2018

Photographers are all invited to the boot Düsseldorf Dive show, which takes place in in Dusseldorf, Germany, to take part in the winning ceremony .
However, World ShootOut participants who do not make it to the winning ceremony will simply receive their prizes by mail and post. 

How does my team register to the U/W Photo Global Championship?
One of the photographers should register the whole team through the category's registration form.
In the registration form, please provide the names of all other photographers in the team.

Where should I shoot my video clip?
A video clip of up to 150 seconds taken anytime and anywhere in the world should be submitted to the video clip category.
Yes, even videos taken and edited in the past can be submitted!
