Roni Sofer, Israel

Based in Israel, Sofer's commercial and editorial assignments have taken him around the world and have led to publication and exhibitions world wide, acquiring expertise in various disciplines. His work has been published in, amongst others, National Geographic, Newsweek, ELLE, Macleans, Zukunft, Jerusalem report, Jerusalem Post, Hadassah, Bild, Nature of things, CNN, and Contact magazine, covering stories from Egypt to Zimbabwe and from former Yugoslavia to Haiti.
Over the past 20 years Sofer was invited numerous times by tourism authorities in Spain, France, Grease, USA, Italy, Egypt and other countries to produce original outstanding  photographic projects. The fruits of Sofer's assignments were used in editorial and commercial productions as well as in his lectures and photography workshops in Israel as well as the USA and Europe.
In addition to his work making images Sofer is very active in the photographic community. besides his ongoing projects and workshops with photography students nationwide, he is the founder and former editor of  "contact", a leading photography magazine (2002 - 2008), former director of photography in the "Nature of things" magazine (1994-1999) and a senior Judge in various international photography contests including "world shootout" one of the world's leading underwater photography event.
